From Experiment to Production: The Next Chapter of MRAi Design Studio

I just returned from BOND Custom, where I met one-on-one with seventeen building-product suppliers. Before the event ended, every one of them had received a finished product one-sheet — researched, designed, and produced by my AI agent, live, during the meetings themselves.

Nobody asked whether the technology works anymore. They asked how fast it could work for them.

That is where this industry now stands. A recent Bluebeam report found that only 28% of AEC firms have AI running in production — and that those firms report real returns: 40% report savings over $500,000, 64% report better cost predictability, and 58% identify project risks earlier. The gap is no longer belief. It is implementation.

I know that gap from the inside. I am doing the same work and providing the same services as when I had 33 employees. But now the quality is better and I deliver it faster and for less money. That sentence is not a slogan — it is my practice, and it is why I built MRAi Design Studio.

Today the Studio formalizes three offerings:

AI Production Systems for AEC firms. START is a Design & Marketing Audit — a fixed-scope review of how your firm presents and pursues work. GROW installs the workflows as implementation sprints on your live projects. SCALE embeds trained agents and a training program so the capability stays in-house. And STAY keeps me on as your Fractional Chief AI Officer, month after month, so you never fall behind again.

Product visualization for manufacturers. Send us your existing designs and images — we make them better. Presentation imagery and product one-sheets in about 24 hours, and a subscription service that keeps your line’s imagery current on a standing basis.

Succession & Knowledge Transfer, powered by QB Verse. This one is personal to a generation of firm owners: your company’s value exists inside your head. Before a joint venture, a capital partner, or a succession, that knowledge has to be captured in systems — recorded expertise, trained agents, a standards library, a transition roadmap. That is the work QB Verse was built for.

I am opening a small number of founding engagements this quarter — firms and owners who want to be in the 28%, with the systems to prove it.

Ai Now

Every new technology gets the same doomsday conversation. I have been having it for over 30 years. in the 1990s builders wouldn’t give up their glossy paper brochures for a website. then came PV Solar and the pushback was the first cost was too heavy a lift, and it felt too complicated to manage. VR made people dizzy, it was too expensive to create, and visualization computer programmers were far and few between.
With time, every one of those objections turned out to be a trivial fix.
Now it’s AI. And here’s what it looks like from my perspective: I’m doing the same kind of work and providing the same services as when I had lots of employees — but the quality is better, I deliver it faster, and for less money.
I wrote up the full pattern — and why I’m not that concerned — in this article below.
Change is inevitable. Doing it well is a choice.

“First to the Future” TV home of Ty Pennington

One Design. Endless Possibilities. — the First to the Future home, designed by Mike Rosen for Ty Pennington, evolves through seven styles, reveals its CoreWall core, and takes its place in the QB Verse.

One of the most challenging and interesting projects completed by Mike Rosen AIA, was the TV show house of Ty Pennington. This home featured futuristic products and existing sustainable technologies in order to show the building community that Net Zero Energy home design is possible, and does not need to break the budget.
